This Love Your Pet Day, February 20, 2026,BitGW Exchange chose to celebrate in a way that reflects who we are — by giving back to the community around us.
Together with members of our community, we volunteered at SAVE, A Friend To Homeless Animals, a county-supported animal shelter in New Jersey dedicated to rescuing and caring for homeless and abandoned animals.

Supporting What Shelters Need Most
After speaking with the SAVE team about their most immediate needs, we organized a donation of essential supplies to help support their daily operations.
Our donation included over 20 bags of premium dry dog food, high-protein training treats, dental toys, waterproof mats, pet waste disposal supplies, and over 10 large wool blankets suitable for the shelter. These blankets are perfectly sized to provide warmth and comfort for cats and dogs during the cold winter months.
Together, these items directly support the shelter’s day-to-day routines — from proper nutrition and training to maintaining clean, comfortable living spaces for the animals in their care.

The Most Meaningful Part: Time
While the donations matter, the most meaningful part of the day wasn’t what we brought — it was the time we shared.
Our team and community members walked the dogs, played with them, helped trim and prepare bedding materials, cleaned kennels, and most importantly, gave the animals the attention they deserve.
Some dogs warmed up instantly. Others took patience.
Watching a shy pup slowly relax, begin wagging their tail, and lean in for affection was a powerful reminder of what Love Your Pet Day truly represents: love, patience, and responsibility — especially for animals still waiting for a permanent home.
